COSC 729/477: Virtual Reality and its Applications


FINAL PROJECT REPORT

  1. Submit Project Report at blackboard and bring a hardcopy in the class.
  2. Format

    - give project title, names of group members, faculty

    - reduce image size

    - acknowledge material copied from other sites

    - clearly mark links that point to other sites

    - major tools: text, images, Vizard, Unity 3D, VRML 2.0, QuickTime VR, or MPEG video

  3. GOAL AND OBJECTIVES: List out the goals of the project. [For example evacuation behavior simulation, plane take-off simulation, hazardous events, reconstruction or remodeling of a building, etc.] What were you intending to do? Why are you doing it? Who will use this application? Why is this application usefull? Who is the target audience?
    MODELING: Describe the envisioned virtual environment (building, trees, people, furniture, landscaping elements, etc.)
    o Planned geometry, use of textures, animations, behavior and functionality, etc.
    o Describe how the application will be used. (envisioned users, navigation, interactions, etc.)
    o Explain the modeling done in 3ds Max or google sketchup
    PROGRAMMING: Explain how you used python programming (Vizard) or C#/java programming (Unity 3D) [use print screen image]
  4. Functionality: Explain how the following are implemented: (add print screen images to explain each)
  5. Show how the following were added-- add printscreens and description for each figure in the Virtual Environment. [ Each figure should have a number, caption and description]

    o    Lights

    o    Timers

    o    Keyboard functionalities, ProximitySensor, TouchSensor, TimeSensor, etc.

    o    Avatar Animation

    o    Hardware: input devices (optional)

    o    Add atleast 10 avatars

    - Utilize keyboard or mouse callbacks to control the movement of the avatars

    o    Add a sky with environmental map

    o    add audio file

    o    Create action events in the environment
    - comment the code to mention action event1, action event 2, etc.
    - Action events should be on other objects in the environment

  6. Explain the behaviors implemented for different agents/avatars
  7. Argue briefly why this application is useful and why virtual reality is the appropriate technology for this project.
  8. Content

    - The report should describe the designed environment . The different aspects of you environment, etc.

    - more details about the implementation. (add Print screens for important details implemented)

    why is this a useful application?

Also describe what each figure is showing in the report.(For e.g: Fig. 2 shows the museum room where...)
